What happens when an aspiring game developer has some assets for a 3D platformer project lying around, and he so happens to find a website, full of models from his childhood games? You get this.....experiment? XD
So yeah, this isn't meant to be taken seriously. This is just the results of me derping around in Unity for a few minutes. I did take this opportunity though to use my video editing skills, to create a sorta "Rough Draft" of what I imagine my 3D platformer's HUD to look like. On top of that, this surprisingly also served as a nice experiment, to see how the mechanics I currently have in my game would fair up in an actual level. Running around in JellyFish Fields proved to be quite enjoyable, even with Sam's current minimlisic platforming abilities.
Sooo....I guess this video was sorta a mixture of just derping around in Unity for funsies, and actually planning out some stuff for the actual Sam the Squirrel game. That worked out better than expected, ey? :P Anyways, here's a video of this very experiment. Hope you guys atleast enjoy it a LITTLE bit. XD
As an added bonus, you guys get a little peek at a more updated version of the game's prototype. Sam's running animation was tweaked, to add a little more bounce to it. There's also a long jump ability, and although you might not be able to see it very well here, there's also a ledge grab ability featured in this video as well.
